The following information is from the summer of 2011. We will post 2012 camps as the information is received throughout the spring.

Calgary
La Cité des Rocheuses at 4800 Richard Rd. SW offers L'Univers des Jeunes for French-speaking children aged 6 to 13. There will be a different theme each day (e.g., science, sports, nature, cultural diversity, artistic talents). Each week there will be at least one field trip in addition to a visit to a nearby swimming pool (participants must be able to go to the pool, at least with a flotation device). The weekly sessions will run from July 4 to August 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fee for a 5-day week is $180 for members of La Cité, $205 for non-members, with a 10% discount for a sibling. 403-249-1749 ext.232, receptionlacite@bellnet.ca
The Alliance Française of Calgary will also host summer immersion camps throughout July and August for children aged 7 to 17. Designed to develop fluency, ease and confidence in conversational French for beginners to advanced speakers through languages activities, workshops (drama, artistic activities, board games, etc.) and one outing per week.
Edmonton
ACFA régionale d’Edmonton offers a summer day camp for children aged 5-11. Camp Soleil will run from July 4 to August 19 at Campus Saint-Jean. Games, arts and crafts, singing, outdoor activities, excursions, treasures hunts and a special activity each week. Before and after care available. L'UniThéâtre, the Centre de développement musical and La Girandole join forces again to hold Le Camp Multi-Arts, a summer camp that allows your child to develop his interests and talents through theatre, music, dance and visual arts. Within these four facets of art, your child will create a performance that will be presented at the Fringe Festival. He will have the opportunity to express himself in French, in a creative environment, as well as make new friends. This two-week camp is offered August 8 to 19 for students in French immersion grades 4 to 9 and for students in French schools, grades 1 to 9. The French Summer Camp offered by the Alliance française of Edmonton at 10424 - 123 St. is for non-francophone children aged 6 to 12, from both FSL and immersion programs. The objective is to develop confidence in oral and written French through a wide variety of fun and interesting activities, including excursions. The children will be split into groups of the same background/level/age for the time spent in the classroom, but they will be all in the same age group for all other activities, games, etc. Weekly sessions from July 11 to August 12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., for $250 (some discounts available). Grande Prairie
Camps dété franco-fun for students aged 6 to 12 are offered by the Grande Prairie francophone association at École Nouvelle Frontière, 11201 Pinnacle Blvd. Running from July 4 to August 12, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., each week will feature a different theme (e.g., sports, drama & visual arts, nature). $100/week. acfagp55@telus.net or 780-532-6335
Jasper
CPF Jasper is offering Camp Franco-éco 2/3 for immersion and Francophone students who have completed grades 2 & 3 and Camp Franco-éco 4/5 for students who have completed grades 4 & 5. To be held at the Parks Canada Palisades Stewardship Education Centre, the focus of this day camp is on experiencing nature while learning and speaking French. Includes Wednesday evening supper, sing-a-long and campfire. August 1-5. For more details click here.
Leduc
When she has groups of French-speaking children, she speaks French. When she has a mix of immersion students, she speak both English and French. $35/day, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Create yummy ice cream "formations" ~ build a pipeline & go geocaching ~ exciting scavenger hunt challenge ~ and more. Different days for ages 6-8 and 9-12. Lethbridge
Be sure to register by June 24 for Camp Girouette, organized by the Lethbridge francophone association for French-speaking children aged 6 to 12. July 4 to August 26, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a variety of activities and field trips. $155 per week for your first child, $130 for each additional child, plus $25 for a family membership in l'ACFA.

Olds
Camp Soleil is an activity-based French camp for students aged 6-12 including games, crafts, songs, drama and more. August 8 to 12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at École Olds Elementary School. Red Deer
The Waskasoo Environmental Education Society offers French-Language Summer Day Camps at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre for French-speaking children aged 7-12. At the French summer day camps offered by the Red Deer francophone association, children aged 4-7 will discover letters, numbers, shapes, colours and enjoy story time, crafts, and more. The Alberta Parenting for the Future Batteries Not Included / Piles Non Inclus day camps include three weeks of fun in French for immersion students entering grades 1 to 5. The three different themes will involve interactive games, hands-on activities, crafts, and more. $80 or $100, with a $5 discount for CPF members thanks to CPF Parkland. Residential camps in the west:
Alberta: 2011 information: Near Clyde on Lake Wakamao, 75 km north of Edmonton, Centre de plein air Lusson (CPAL) is Alberta’s only residential French camp. This year's theme is "survival." In addition to activities based on this theme, children will enjoy: canoeing, trails, group games, drama, arts and crafts, camp fires, etc. The programs for children aged 8-14 run from Sunday evening to Friday evening, July 4 to August 19. 2100 information: For the first time in 2011 the Ross Haven Bible Camp on the shores of Lac Ste. Anne, about an hour west of Edmonton, is offering a French language camp for both native French speakers and French immersion students. August 14-19. For boys and girls ages 7-12. Activities will include go-karting, tubing, swimming, BMXing, good food and chapel times. They will have a complement of French-speaking staff as well as a guest speaker from Quebec. Explore (formerly the Summer Language Bursary Program) is a five-week intensive language-learning course to be taken in the spring or summer. Participants must have completed at least grade 11. They receive a bursary covering tuition fees, instructional materials, meals, and accommodation.
