CPF Alberta’s President, Christine Whitney, says “We look forward to continuing to work with Alberta Education in ensuring that French-Second-Language (FSL) Education in Alberta remains an integral part of our education system and continues creating FSL learning opportunities for young Albertans.”
Some of the points within this plan will improve opportunities for students to learn French as a Second Language. Parents should have a strong voice in the education system as they are considered partners in their child’s education. Their input and support are necessary to help with their children's success and this plan appears to look at strengthening their position and role. CPF Alberta also supports the inititiatives to increase the transparency, clarity and accountability of our education system, review the achievement tests, and to reduce travel time for students who spend more than one hour on a bus and enabling students to better use technology when they travel.
Canadian Parents for French is the national network of volunteers which values French as an integral part of Canada and which is dedicated to the promotion and creation of French-second-language learning opportunities for young Canadians. There are currently 26,000 members across Canada and more than 3,400 in Alberta
