President: Shannon Nelson (Grande Prairie) is beginning her second two-year term as President of CPF Alberta. During her five years as President and Past President of CPF Grande Prairie she helped to establish the highly successful regional French Language Resource Centre. Her daughter graduated from French immersion last spring and her sons are in immersion Grades 5 and 11. carlshom@telusplanet.net

Directors: Sunday Bauder is a Nuclear Cardiology/CT Specialist. In their spare time, she and her husband operate a hobby broodmare operation that breeds and raises young thoroughbred horses for the racing industry. Sunday has three children in French immersion in Cochrane. While previously living in Bragg Creek, she served as a Director and President on the CPF Springbank executive, helping to have the immersion program there expanded into the senior high school. sunday.cpf@gmail.com
Ginette Beaulieu-Soboleski has been a teacher of French as a first or a second language for almost 16 years. Proud of her Franco-Ontarian heritage, she has enjoyed many opportunities because she is fully bilingual. She has shared strategies, ideas and ways of preserving the French language with administrators, teachers and parents. “The gift of knowledge and language is an incredible thing to give to children!” mdmeb@hotmail.com
Graeme Burns is a professional speaker, facilitator and voice artist. He has served as CPF Chapter President in Beaumont for the past five years. Graeme is a graduate of French immersion in Quebec and Alberta, and his two children are also in immersion. His passion is bringing people and ideas together, and he is pleased to have the privilege of joining the CPF Alberta board. burnsy@telusplanet.net
Dorothy Stearns is a heritage presenter for Parks Canada, where she is influenced by bilingual colleagues as well as visitors from around the world who speak multiple languages. She has been a Director and President with CPF Rocky Mountain House, and has seen her two children attain fluency in French through the immersion program there. She and her husband, a former professional bull rider and rodeo judge, live on a ranch in the foothills. tdstearn@telusplanet.net
Christine Whitney has been a Director with the Springbank CPF chapter since her family moved to Alberta in 2005. Here her two teenaged children continue to benefit from French immersion at the high school level. Originally from Quebec, Christine is an anglophone who became bilingual. She earned a B.Comm from McGill University. With 25 years management experience in Consumer Packaged Goods and Retail with major companies, she has seen first-hand how bilingualism produces more effective teams and customer relations through communication. whitneys@telus.net
